The approach

Phasing works when somebody plans the whole path first.

New Beginnings rebuilt their systems in stages across several years rather than funding everything at once. We replaced the audio front end, changed the stage lighting, and replaced the video cameras and projector.

Done without a plan, phasing means buying things twice. Done properly, each phase is usable on its own, nothing gets stranded, and the order is chosen so that later phases plug into decisions already made. That requires the integrator to still be around in year three, which is the part that actually makes phasing possible.

Most churches cannot fund it in one year.

Pathways, power and structure get built once. Equipment fills in behind them as budget allows.

Every stage has to be fully usable on its own. A half-finished system is worse than the old one.
